Limited issue Sovereign!
This 2013 Gold Sovereign was struck in India for the first time in 95 years! In 1918, the Bombay mint struck sovereigns for the only time in its history. Now collectors can obtain a 2013 Sovereign struck in Delhi using dies supplied by the Royal Mint.
These coins feature the classic design of St. George slaying the dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci. Instantly recognizable for added security and peace of mind, Pistrucci’s original design is regarded throughout the world as a masterpiece of numismatic art and an icon of strength and dependability. The Sovereign continues to be recognized as a Gold coin of beauty, quality and accuracy and is considered by many as the flagship coin of The Royal Mint. The obverse of the coins bears the current portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. These coins have been certified Mint State 69 by NGC, and each has its certificate of authenticity from the Royal Mint.
