    Here's another listing by
    Lone Star Trains and Collectibles,
    Your
    Classic Era Train Headquarters!
KEEP SCROLLING TO THE BOTTOM PAST THE POLICIES TO SEE MORE PICTURES OF THIS SET. WE HAVE ABOUT 50 OR SO!
You are bidding on a clean and running American Flyer COMPLETE set from 1958 in the original box. This is a clean set. This is one of those sets you have always wanted and rarely find clean and boxed. You've been waiting, and here it is.
These engines were only made in 1958, and to find them in the original power and dummy tandem is something special. Add to it so many high desire five digit freight cars, and you have quite a find.
PLUS the cars in this set are all some of the more desirable pieces such as the Missouri Pacific boxcar still with the original nibs.
This is ALOT of vintage train for the money, and an item you will be proud of. Or perhaps you have an American Flyer collector on your gift list.
Please take the time to read the whole description below before bidding. We took time in writing it for you. We look forward to any questions--we answer all emails.
We have provided MANY supersizable pictures--take advantage of them and look at every detail before bidding.
Remember just how close up these pictures are! They might highlight something you can barely see in real life or show dust that you do not see live. We have not cleaned these items as we like to leave it to you especvially on these high dollar items.
The components all have knuckle couplers.
If the individual boxes are supposed to have the large inner insert flap on the printed end, some may be missing but I cannot tell. All printing is not only legible but generally sharp. Boxes are mostly crisp.
Here is a detailed breakdown of each item for your consideration:
    THE 20440 SET BOX
Shows some light wear, but overall, it is one of the nicer ones. There is some light bottom edge fraying, mostly on one of the short ends with a little bit of separation. A little bit of wear and creasing on the top and some of the usual age-related discoloration—but still not as bad as most. Really looks good overall. Structurally nice as well.
21918 Seaboard Power and 21918-1 Dummy Baldwin Diesel engines
These are cleaner than most. With the flash, you can see dust particles on the units; we did not detail these as we thought we would leave it to you. The printing on these is sharp, and the decals look great. The Seaboard lettering is beautiful.
Both units have the usual hairline crack at the screw, but neither unit has anything missing there. The screwholes on each unit have been repaired below the screw. On the dummy, there is a hairline crack that extends from the screwhole onto the flat platform, but it is not super obvious.
The powered unit has been tested, and it runs and reverses. You might want to give it a light service/lube. Offered 1958 only and tough to find as an original tandem. The Baldwins are not known as the best runners or pullers, but the style and colors on these units more than makes up for it to collectors.
BOXES: 21918 crisp and complete. 21918-1 Crisp. Non print end has a taped side flap.
    24309 GULF tank car
This one has the GRCX 5016 road number. Decals are all here. Car is sharp and complete.
    BOX: Crisp.
    24216 Union Pacific Hopper
    Very clean and complete.
BOX: Looks like the large inner tongue flap may have been cut off. Very small tear on the end flap.
    24109 C&O Pipe Gondola
    Another excellent and complete piece.
BOX: Nice. Wear on the end flap tongue edge. Other end crisp.
24413 Refrigerator Car American Refrigerator Transit
    Missouri Pacific Wabash
This ART car features Missouri Pacific and Wabash markings. It is quite clean. One of the MP buzzsaw decals has a rub on one little tooth. Other than that, this is a sharp and practically like new car.
BOX: Complete. Light wear on tongue flap.
    24033 Missouri Pacific boxcar
Very clean. Minor buzzsaw decal rub. Both door nibs are still here. Sharp.
BOX: Nice box—complete. A few small edge tears on the tongue of the stamped end of the box. Hard to see, but there.
    24619 Deluxe caboose
The caboose is the painted version. All printing is quite crisp. One of the catwalks has chipped, but is a clean, straight, smooth almost factory-looking end. Other than that, this car is excellent plus to like new.
BOX: Has print end wear on flap tongue edge. Other than that, nice.
    BUT wait, there's more...
    #26720 12 curved track sections,
    four straight,
a track lock on in envelope,
    and a 50 watt transformer
    .
